Hot Wings

I live for natrual highs.

Friends Smile

Spent a chilled day out at Melissa's place with Wendy, Derek, Stephanie, Yvonne, Vicky & Kenneth. Who needs theme parks and consoles? We had so much fun simply with ourselves! A lot of screaming and squealing and excitement was shared

Played pictionary to begin with while waiting for vicky which was hilarious because everyone was yelling left right and centre haha. We ordered Pizza over the phone and spoke to the operators in a rather looney way haha and while I was on the phone they were chorusing the 9481 1111 pizza song in the background like crazy. Derek edited the coupon on paint and added the word HOT to 'wing's before printing it out - cheap thrills Shades.

When the delivery guy did eventually roll around we were so candid and unhinged when talking to him haha. Afterwards we simply sat back and laughed ourselves silly whilst picturing ourselves ten years down the track and simply talked about that for hours.

Thanks guys for today! Big Smile

Oh and the day before I watched Bride wars with Jen, Peter, Nigel and Jen's friends: Janet & Anna! It was pretty good for a chick flick and had a degree of wit in it. Nigel drove me home afterwards and he is a hoon in a stationwagon haha Shocked. I was so broke that day after spending money on clothes earlier Hurmph

A week 'til school starts and word on the street is that the strike has been called off. Ho hum.

Sunrise

Happy 17th Birthday Shirley Chau :D I hope you had a swell day and have a cracking year

Today I managed to drag myself out of bed at 6am and to the station at 7am (thank you David Le). We were planning on travelling to Martin Place early to see the Sunrise crew only to find out they were in Melbourne. Shocked

I left for my lecture which was suprisingly good. Luckily James was there and Fiona too. I went to put a piece of paper in the bin for someone but ended up throwing my wallet out Hurmph Luckily with James' help I got it out. Haha. It had garlic sauce all over it. Disgusting. I couldn't get the garlic smell out until Derek helped out haha. I'm not going to use the wallet again.

Afterwards I got off at Castlereagh Street and wandered around before heading to Martin Place to meet up with everyone again. Enjoyed a nice bowl of Ramen at Ichiban with everyone before I had to leave for my train Big Smile

First day of the Australian Open!
Here's a neat clip of last year's tournament Smile

Nalby

TOMORROW IS MY GRANDMAS BIRTHDAY :) And I spent the day running around buying things to put in a gift basket for her.

Unfortunately my tickets for the Medibank Internationl Mens Tennis Final were bought 2 months in advance and I had no idea the birthday dinner would be planned on the 17th. So I personally delivered the basket along with a card bearing warm wishes before I left for the match! I felt horrible. But I was able to join her for cake afterwards Big Smile

*

I walked to Matthews place and then we met up with Lily at Lidcombe :D A little while later we were at Olympic Park Station and headed to the Tennis Centre!

Wandered around for a bit waiting for the Men's Doubles Final to begin. Scored a free fan, sunscreen and visor haha. There was a stall that measured your serving speed. Matthew clocked 107 kmph but had difficulties aiming. Lily and I had a go with no great success haha - it was the wind Shades

We were queueing up for the bathroom and I saw a blonde and bronzed woman smiling in our direction. Two seconds later I suspected it was JOHANNA GRIGGS but I still wasn't certain. Sure enough I was star struck. Later on we actually got to meet her and she gave us her autograph Big Smile

The Men's Doubles Final featured Bob & Mike Bryan up against Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic. The Bryan brothers won their first Sydney title! Watching tennis live is completely different to watching it on the telly. The atmosphere and your patience. The match goes by so quickly live!

Afterwards we watched a band play and grabbed a bite. An hour later the Men's Final match began:

DAVID NALBANDIAN V JARRKO NIEMINEN

After a 6-3 first set win. Nalbandian dropped his game a little during the second set with the unforced errors and failures to convert 3984092384902834 championship/match points. But my hero obviously went on to claim the third set for his first sydney victory. I could say so much more about the match but it was awesome and worth every penny. Props to Nieminen for making it to the finals as an unseeded player though!

Nalbandian

During a break the crowd began a mexican wave that must've went around atleast 4 times. Haha I stood up when Nalbandian won but when I tried to sit back down I fell to the ground because I forgot stadium chairs retract.

My deserved Idol and his trophey

I made a fan shirt for Nalbandian and a poster. But it became clear I was the only one retarded enough. What's more is my poster was BRIGHT FLUORO ORANGE.

I was exhausted by the end of everything and got home at around 11.30 Smile I saw Nalbandian play and lost my live tennis match-inity to him Smile

He evidently missed haha

Take me back to the sweet times

I've had to put up with track work for the past week everyday, travelling into the city for summer school lectures. I got quite used to it :) It was nice travelling by bus everyday.

Luckily James (from debating), Kimberley and Kevin ended up at the same University for the lectures. Our lecture hall was filled with rather eccentric people including a juggler. Many giggles were exchanged at the oddities of some.

Whilst in the city, in between work and lectures, I found myself exploring Broadway and Glebe everyday. I love Broadway! and Oxford St. I have fallen in love with a pair of lace up brogues. And my heart is set on them. They will become mine - soon enough!

This has been the best summer holiday :D Weather hasn't been too terribly temperamental either!

Can't wait to hit the beach soon.

Chuck

Why is my blog title chuck? Why don't you ask the people who went to Vicky's birthday outing. Haha. I'm sure they will be more than willing to fill you in.

Met up at Darling Harbour where we had lunch at Pancakes on the Rocks. Mm. Shared a Tandoori Chicken pizza with Shirley - it was massive and ended up sharing it with our garbge disposal, yours truly, Kenneth. He chowed down a pretty disgusting concotion - as per usual.

Headed over to the M9 laser tag / bowling place to play 9283409284 rounds of pool (for free thank yee h4ck3r Msin_92) haha and many violent rounds of air hocky was had. Kenneth somehow managed to bump the puck so hard that it rebounded and flew several feet BEHIND him let alone off the table.

Headed to French Riviera for icecream :) Shared a Maxi/Super bowl amongst 11 people. Afterwards we felt like we never wanted to eat ice cream for another 6 months. Kenny has given me permission to recount the unfortunate event which took place at the parlour. But I think you should ask him yourself. Nah I'll describe it later.

Sung ourselves silly at GreenBox for a good 2 hours and parted ways because it was getting dark (not before some gambling).

I hope you had an awesome day Vicky Mei Yee Fong :) Happy 17th! I wish you all the good things life can bring and more :) - as a person who brings joy and smiles to our lives you are definitely worthy!

Amazing race

Spent time at the city with Wendy, Derek, Melissa, Vicky, David & Kenny!

They had been competing against in each other in their mini-amzaing race around Sydney. Cute. Not quite sure who won.

Met up with them at Passionfruit :) Yum. The girls introduced us to their secret hang out place haha. All I'll say is: gamble gamble gamble. We went to Big Echo for karaoke and I think David wins when it comes to enthusiasm!

Enjoyable day out (even though I was 3 hours late) :)

Race to the top

Today a group of us trotted to the city for the open day of a number of Universities. We went to either explore what we would be spending the next 8-9 months working towards or we didnt have the slightest clue what we wanted to do in the future.

I ended up leaving UNSW doubly confused.

Admittedly UNSW is gorgeous :) but aesthetics has little bearing on the university which I will ultimately choose to attend (if they will have me). There is a long path leading to the main campus and on the way I noticed a petition about the recent conflict in Gaza so I stopped everyone to check it out. I then noticed it was commissioned by a socialist group and giggled to myself as I watched Nigel & Vicky signing it. Later on they asked why I stopped them and didn't sign the petition myself. Communists. Many laughs were had. Haha their slogan was - Marx was right! Capitalism Fails.

UTS had the best freebies! Ice cream, slushies, popcorn, sandwhiches, beverages, magnets, pens, enviro bags and plush toys - and we milked it of course.

We decided to try and get to the top of the building :) And we reached level 32. Nigel almost soiled himself while we were in the lift haha. From level 28 we took the stairs up.

Things gained: Free food. Free Drinks. Enviro bags and Paperweights.

Surprise!

TODAY WE HELD A SURPRISE BIRTHDAY FOR OUR DEAREST WENDY :) ORGANISED BY THE LOVELY MELISSA AND AWESOME DEREK.

It was a fun day :) We ate. We played singstar, poker and eye toy. AND FINALLY MURDER IN THE DARK. It became rather dangerous because we played with glow sticks and people were wrestling with each other for them. Unfortunately (with many apologies and regrets) we broke a photo frame. WHICH ASHLEY & DEREK FIXED. We HOLD FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY FUTURE DAMAGE TO THE FRAME MELISSA :)

Reflections

The end of a year and the dawn of another and with it comes a sappy/corny blog entry that traditionally reflects on the passing year which began with high hopes and aspirations and the coming of a year with the same renewed high hope.

I may as well reproduce last year's blog entry / list of resolutions because every year I don't seem to do a very good job in keeping them. Perhaps that'll all change this year. Though I wonder for how many more years I can keep saying that to myself?

REGARDLESS I REMAIN POSITIVE THAT 2009 WILL BE A FANTASTIC YEAR JUST LIKE 2008 :D A YEAR THAT WILL NEVER ESCAPE US AS THE YEAR OF OUR GRADUATION - CLASS OF '09 :)

Things I had hoped to and successfully achieved in 08:
- Spending more time with my grandma
- History Extension :D
- Blood Donation
- Senior First Aid Cert :D

Things I had hoped to achieve in 08 but never came to me:
- My L's
- A new tetris hi-score
- Finishing NES Super Mario

Things that made 08 memorable:
- CAMP
- COMMANDO
- The car rides with the girls
- YOU
- Bring It On! Youth Festival

IN ANY EVENT, I'M SURE THAT 09 WILL BE THE YEAR I FINALLY SAVE THE PRINCESS IN SUPER MARIO AND THE YEAR I FINALLY GET MY L's.

HELLO HSC.

Me

Hello I'm Cindy. I'm the one on the right. Family, friends and Music are the three things that keep me going. I live for the moments where I laugh 'til I'm in tears. Spontaneous belting out sessions of living on a prayer or wannabe with friends are simply priceless. I like the colour green. Car rides with friends are always fun. I find joy in waking my dog. I hate losing the remote. I write songs but I'm too afraid to share them. I'm corny. Lack of consideration exhibited by people for others makes me angry. I choose pearls over diamonds. Music should be more about a medium for the soul to communicate and not about genres. I call the huge dents in my guitar my 'battle scars'. I tell good jokes but everyone seems to think otherwise. Why is that? They aren't lame. Really they aren't, Maybe they're the lame ones :)
